Thank you for helping to protect Nebraska's birds, wildlife, and their habitat.
Gifts from people like you make important prairie conservation possible. People who understand the beauty of natural places, and the importance of preserving habitat for native plants and animals. Your contribution today will help us ensure that these important connections continue to grow at Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center.
Here, we are working to ensure that native species such as meadowlarks and dickcissels thrive. This is a major challenge: As you may have seen in Audubon's 2007 Common Birds in Decline report, our once common eastern meadowlark has suffered a 72% decline in numbers across the U.S. in the last 40 years.
At Spring Creek Prairie, thousands of visitors enjoy first-hand experiences with tallgrass prairie each year. Because precious little of this remarkable land remains, children and families are allowed a rare opportunity to sense the wonder of the prairie and its vital importance as habitat. We are working to increase the number of these opportunities.
Learning about tallgrass prairie is more than a lesson in history. Through your support it can be a living legacy, leaving this beautiful prairie for all to enjoy.
